Kerri’s Health and Pregnancy Story

Kerri’s Health and Pregnancy Story

I actually didn’t know I could conceive, I went to multiple doctors telling me I had multiple compression and vascular issues that I probably couldn’t carry to term and based of my malnutrition I would suffer through pregnancy because I had a strict eating plan after my open surgery. Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome aka MALS, patients experience excruciating pain during and after intake. I cannot eat a lot or as much as I want to. If I am lucky, I am only able to eat small portions of easy-to-digest foods.

I had no idea I was pregnant until after my summer job ended with teaching art for kids. So many of the kids told me I looked so pretty and my hair was so shiny, I never thought anything of it until my co-workers said it too. Then my parents said it and they never say “glowing” lol, I took a test and it turns out I was already six weeks.

I think the pregnancy was tough in the first trimester. Took a toll on my body but I powered through because my son was my miracle baby and making it to term with him was unimaginable. My postpartum journey was hard the depression, anxiety, and rage were all there. No one thought I had postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety etc because the doctors didn’t diagnose me. My friends and family distracted me as best they could to not think negatively, even though there were times when I didn’t understand how or why I was feeling that way.

My advice to anyone trying to conceive is no matter what a doctor tells you, don’t give up. Do whatever you can to prepare for the event. I’m very much into holistic and herbal approach when it comes to healing my body and helping my illness.
